Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting Emergency Clinical Practitioners for our Urgent Care/Walk-in services. You will provide autonomous, evidence-based care for injuries and undifferentiated conditions, collaborate with emergency services and other professionals, and contribute to service development.

The role involves shifts across operating hours (currently 8am–8pm) and requires extensive experience in urgent care or primary care settings.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or Registered Health Professional (physio, paramedic) with HCPC.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Masters level in Advanced Clinical Practitioner or willingness to work towards an MSc in Advanced Practice.
• Independent Prescriber (or on pathway to complete).
• Qualification in prehospital care or community care.
• Qualification in teaching or practice-based learning.
• University accredited Minor injuries Module.
• University accredited paediatric advanced assessment module.
• Proven experience delivering autonomous unscheduled medical care and management.
• Experience with minor injuries and illnesses.
• Experience collaborating across organisational boundaries.
• Experience monitoring clinical standards.
• Ability to prioritise workload with minimal supervision.
• Experience caring for patients of all ages.
• Minimum of five years' experience in emergency/unscheduled care or primary care.
• Experience of team/service/staff management.
• Experience implementing evidence-based care and developing others.
• Experience conducting research and audit.
• Experience of change management and implementing change in practice.
• Evidence of innovation in practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality evidence-based care to patients with injuries and undifferentiated health problems.
• Work as an autonomous practitioner delivering care to patients.
• Utilise diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning for unscheduled care.
• Collaborate with Emergency services and other health professionals.
• Define standards of care and contribute to quality improvement.
• Collaborate with CLCH walk-in centres/UCCs and cross-cover other sites.
• Work with senior staff on operational management and development of the service.
• Cover shifts within service during operating hours (8am–8pm; may change).
