Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking a Band 6 Community Midwife for the Mid Argyll locality on a fixed-term/secondment contract until September 2027. You will provide direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and their families within a community midwifery model, with autonomous practice supported by consultants from Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

A driving licence is essential; on-call duties apply for birth in out-of-hours periods, with training and development opportunities available within

Responsibilities

• Direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and families.
• Support women in choosing place of birth within a community midwifery model.
• Provide autonomous practice with consultant support.
• On-call to respond to obstetric emergencies outside daytime hours.
