Job summary

NXTGEN is partnering with a local Norwich firm to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper who can shape a new role and deliver a high-quality service. You will manage a varied client portfolio, visit sites when needed, and build long-term relationships with businesses.

You'll work autonomously within a supportive leadership team, helping clients better understand their finances while contributing to the growth of the practice. Salary is dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or client-facing environment.
• Confident managing your own workload and working autonomously.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Proactive approach and genuine passion for delivering excellent client service.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing the bookkeeping requirements for a varied portfolio of clients across sectors.
• Building strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Visiting clients on-site where required, providing continuity and hands-on support.
• Completing bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Assisting with month-end processes and management information where required.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value for clients.
