Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a Bank Nurse to join the HMP Humber healthcare team. You will deliver nurse-led clinics, administer medications, respond to emergencies, and provide comprehensive physical healthcare in a secure environment.

The role offers autonomous practice within a multidisciplinary team, with induction, ongoing training, and opportunities to develop a broad range of nursing skills while contributing to high-quality, patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Bank RGN with current NMC registration and clinical experience in primary care or urgent care.
• Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to NHS Pension and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking comprehensive health assessments, clinical reviews and ongoing monitoring of patients.
• Delivering nurse-led clinics and evidence-based interventions within scope of practice.
• Undertaking triage and responding to urgent and unplanned healthcare needs.
• Responding to medical emergencies across the establishment as part of the wider healthcare emergency response, working alongside and with the support of healthcare colleagues and established local procedures.
• Administering medications, treatments and vaccinations safely and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Providing wound assessment, treatment and ongoing wound management.
• Undertaking physical examinations, observations, diagnostic procedures and investigations within scope of practice.
• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised programmes of care.
• Identifying changes or deterioration in a patient’s condition and escalating or referring appropriately.
• Making referrals to specialist, secondary care and other healthcare services where required.
• Supporting the management of long-term conditions and promoting preventative healthcare.
• Providing health promotion, education and advice to support patients to make informed decisions about their health.
• Working collaboratively with internal and external healthcare professionals to support continuity and coordination of care.
• Maintaining clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
• Working in accordance with safeguarding, infection prevention, medicines management and clinical governance requirements.
• Contributing to clinical audits, quality improvement, service development and learning from incidents.
• Maintaining professional competence and participating in training, supervision and continuing professional development.
