Qualifications

Job Description
  • Supervising and personally assisting with maintenance of the workshops, preparation of equipment and materials required, with due regard to both efficiency and safety including the writing and reviewing risk assessments.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Doncaster training fleet making recommendations for vehicle rotation / destruction and ensuring all vehicles are well maintained.
  • Support the delivery of courses as required and ensuring students work in a safe manner.
  • Support course set up and set down as required.
  • Support, when required, the development of workshop training aids for use within the technical programmes.
  • Liaise with the relevant managers to ensure the smooth running of the Motor Vehicle workshops and stores, reporting immediately any problems relating to staff or equipment, which the post holder is not able to resolve.
  • Responsible for ensuring equipment used in the area is efficiently maintained and minimise any delays due to breakdown.
  • Produce estimates of parts and repairs necessary to refurbish equipment and where possible, to carry out repairs within the workshops.
  • Ensure that flammable and dangerous materials are efficiently and safely stored and that adequate stocks are kept at all times.
  • Support the End Point Assessment (EPA) process with technician duties.
  • Ensure that working areas are kept clean and tidy and that all necessary safety procedures are followed.
  • Identify as soon as possible any problems relating to staff, equipment or materials and either resolve them personally or refer them to the Leadership Team as appropriate.
  • Carry out regular stock checks of equipment, materials and consumables and advise of any replacements required and to assist with the annual inventory of materials, consumables and equipment and assist in the loading or off loading or equipment.
  • Assist with general maintenance within the workshop areas and the training facility as required.
  • Be an onsite First Aider.
  • Deliver and assess Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Level 3 IMI qualification.
  • Host weekly on-site meetings to all staff ensuring awareness of Health & Safety site activities. Liaise with the Site Facilities Manager to include any additional topics concerning site requirements.
  • Dedicated on site security (Person Responsible Security - PRS) with key holding responsibilities.
  • Support Site Facilities Manager with asset management tasks.
  • Any other tasks as required by the business.
Qualifications

The job holder will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Automotive qualification, preferably with light vehicle
  • A First Aid qualification or willing to work towards
  • A Level 2 qualification (GCSE or Equivalent) in English & Maths, desirable
  • Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Level 3 Qualification or above
  • Formal health & safety training or willing to work towards within 12 months
  • Actively engage inimproving our business processes by contributing ideas and suggestions
  • Take ownership of queries. Think partnerships. Work collaboratively with all members of the Bosch Mobility Aftermarket (MA) business.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively at all levels, both externally and internally
  • Be determined, energetic and flexible
