Job summary

Applus IDIADA in Nuneaton is seeking a Workshop Technician to join our Testing team. You will support automotive testing projects in workshop and on the road/test track, helping engineers with setup, fixtures, and data capture.

The role offers exposure to durability, brakes, infotainment, EV charging and ADAS testing, with opportunities for training, career development, and a pension/benefits package.

Qualifications

• Automotive mechanic/technician experience preferred.
• Basic IT skills and office applications required.
• English proficiency required.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering team with complete automotive testing project execution, including brake dynamometer setup, fixture building, wiring, and vehicle testing support.
• Prepare tests, operate equipment, and set up data acquisition.
• Execute tests according to defined procedures and specifications.
• Fabricate fixtures to support brake testing and organise testing samples in the workshop.
• Assist with test equipment upgrades, maintenance, and calibration.
• Flexibly support diverse vehicle-based testing activities (Durability, Quality, Infotainment, Connectivity, Brakes, EV charging, Electrical Sign-off, ADAS).
• Ensure alignment with policies on project management, quality, OHS, and facilities maintenance.
