Job Description

Mountain States Toyota is seeking an Automotive Technician to join our growing team. Be part of our success as we aim to break records in 2024, and we value our technicians! Technicians are responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned, following dealer and factory standards. They will also oversee the work of apprentice technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
  2. Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs.
  3. Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  4. Save and tag parts under warranty or upon customer request.
  5. Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is needed.
  6. Notify the service advisor if additional work is unnecessary or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  7. Document all work performed.
  8. Road-test vehicles when required or refer to a test technician, ensuring the vehicle is used appropriately.
  9. Supervise apprentice technicians as assigned.
  10. Attend factory-sponsored training classes and stay updated on technical bulletins.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized shop area, and account for all dealership tools.
  12. Follow all safety policies, including regulations on hazardous waste disposal, and report accidents immediately.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 2-5 years of flat rate technician experience; diagnostic/mainline experience is a plus.
  • ASE Certification and/or trade school certification.
  • Experience with Toyota or multiple brands.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow directions, willingness to learn, and mentor teammates.
  • Respectful attitude and positive outlook.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Authorization to work in the USA.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment tests including background checks, MVR, drug tests, and valid driver license.
