Hawk Hiring is recruiting an experienced Vehicle Technician for a busy independent garage in Kidderminster. You will service and repair a variety of makes and models, with a supportive team and clear daily targets.

The role offers a £35,000–£45,000 base pay plus a team incentive, 20 days annual leave, a workplace pension, free parking, modern diagnostic gear, staff discounts, and supplied workwear.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanic with solid confidence in heavy mechanical repair work and diagnostic fault isolation.
• Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• MOT Tester license preferred but not essential.
• Dependable, detail-oriented with focus on clean workmanship and first-time fixes.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Execute core mechanical repairs including timing chains/belts, clutches, engines overhauls and gearboxes.
• Use multi-brand diagnostic tools to troubleshoot faults accurately.
• Perform servicing, safety inspections, brake/suspension work and pre-MOT checks.
• Document technical details on job cards and update service desk.
• Maintain clean bays and follow workshop safety procedures.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Execute core mechanical repairs, including timing chains/belts, clutch kits, engine overhauls, and gearbox replacements
• Use multi-brand diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults accurately
• Complete routine servicing, safety inspections, brake/suspension repairs, and pre-MOT health checks
• Document clear technical details on job cards and keep service desk staff updated on repair progress
• Maintain clean working bays and follow standard workshop safety procedures

What We Need From You

• Experience: Time-served mechanic with solid confidence in heavy mechanical repair work and diagnostic fault isolation
• Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ / IMI in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served garage background)
• MOT Status: MOT Smart Card / active MOT Tester licence is preferred (with enhanced starting pay potential), but is not essential to apply
• Mindset: Dependable, detail-oriented technician focused on clean workmanship and first-time fixes
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
