Job description

Hastings CDJR is looking for a Service Technician to join our growing team. Hastings Auto Group, which started with Hastings Ford, is a locally owned, family business that has grown from 16 employees in 2012 to over 80 employees in its 12 years of operation. We've expanded through the growth of our Quick Lane/Sinclair Fuel station, the acquisition of the former Hastings Honda (now HFX Honda Powersports), and the recent acquisition of Hastings Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. What You’ll Do

• Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and according to dealership standards.
• Work independently and as part of a team to maximize repair efficiency.
• Detail and document repairs clearly and consistently.
• Inspect and maintain shop equipment.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning to specifications.
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and necessary repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
• Inspect and test new vehicles, recording findings to facilitate repairs.
• Engage in ongoing training to stay updated on new vehicle technologies and repair techniques.

What You’ll Bring

• Previous automotive technician experience is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Team-oriented, flexible, energetic, and committed to high-quality customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment systems, diagnostic tools, and AC equipment.
• Vocational/Technical certification or equivalent.
