Job summary

Autoneum is a global leader in acoustic and thermal management for light and commercial vehicles. The Quality Engineer role focuses on ensuring customer and internal quality requirements are achieved throughout manufacturing, driving continuous improvement and compliance with IATF 16949.

The fixed-term contract runs until 31 December 2027, covering the current postholder on secondment. You will be the primary quality contact for operations, supporting problem-solving, audits, and process

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive, aerospace or defense manufacturing.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
• Experience with automotive core tools: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience responding to customer concerns using 8D methodology.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
• Experience with OEM customer requirements.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigation and containment activities for customer complaints and warranty issues.
• Manage customer portals and ensure timely submission of corrective actions.
• Support customer visits, audits, and quality reviews.
• Monitor customer quality performance indicators and develop improvement plans.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Control Plans, PFMEAs, and customer requirements.
• Conduct process audits and layered process audits.
• Monitor process capability and quality performance data.
• Support production teams in reducing scrap, rework, and defects.
• Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
• 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto Analysis.
• Drive reduction of customer complaints, internal defects, and cost of poor quality.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support APQP activities for new product launches.
• Participate in design and process reviews.
• Review and approve PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, Work Instructions.
• Coordinate PPAP submissions.
