Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Production Manager for our automotive manufacturing site in Pickering. This hands-on leadership role oversees a key production area, driving safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost improvements through a strong, visible management style.

The successful candidate will lead a production team, manage KPIs, and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HSE, MP&L and HR to optimise productivity and reduce waste.

Qualifications

• Experience managing production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in automotive manufacturing is essential.
• Experience in injection moulding and/or paint would be highly desirable.
• Understanding of manufacturing KPIs and performance improvement.
• Hands-on, visible leadership style with accountability and change.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a production team, including supervisors and team leaders.
• Take ownership of departmental KPIs and operational performance.
• Ensure production plans and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
• Drive improvements in OEE, RFT, scrap, downtime and labour efficiency.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Kaizen principles.
• Manage resources, manpower and production priorities effectively.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HSE, MP&L and HR.
• Identify and implement improvements to productivity, quality and cost.
