Overview

Automotive Paint Technician

Dagenham, London

Salary £49,037

Shift pattern: 6am-2pm and 2pm-12am (Friday off for afternoon shifts).

We are looking for an experienced Paint Technician to join a prestigious custom vehicle specialist. Using HVLP spray guns, we would expect you to have previous experience with wet-on-wet techniques and low-bake ovens.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing surfaces for paint application and highlighting any concerns to the preparation team.
  • Using “wet on wet” techniques to produce parts that meet all quality and conformity standards.
  • Mixing and matching paint to precise specifications, ensuring a flawless, smooth finish with no surface issues.
  • Applying paint using HVLP spray guns with expert precision.
  • Operating and maintaining low-bake ovens, ensuring they are cleaned and properly always maintained.
  • Identifying and correcting any defects and working with anti-static equipment to minimise inclusions on substrates.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • City & Guilds Level 3 or IMI qualification in automotive refinishing, or significant relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of paint application techniques and the ability to mix and match colours with accuracy.
  • Familiarity with low-bake ovens and drying techniques, as well as reading and interpreting technical instructions.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety processes, quality conformance, and continuous improvement.
