Job summary

Greenlight Automotive is expanding and seeks a Master Technician to join the Vehicle Preparation Centre in Blackburn. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and ensure quality workmanship for premium used cars.

The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic experience, a full UK driving licence and City and Guilds qualifications. The role involves road tests, customer communication, and maintaining a safe, productive workshop.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostic checks and repairs on vehicles in the Vehicle Preparation Centre.
• Undertake repairs to the industry highest standard with due care and diligence.
• Work on gearboxes, timing belts/chains, engine repairs and light mechanical tasks.
• Undertake road tests to identify fault causes.

Due to ongoing expansion, we now have a vacancy for a senior diagnostic technician in our Vehicle Preparation Centre .The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle fault diagnostics and the ability to resolve faults and experience in routine vehicle servicing.

The Role as a Vehicle Mechanic

• The main purpose of your job – is to carry out diagnostic checks and repairs on vehicles that come into our Vehicle Preparation Centre.


• To undertake with due care, skill and diligence all requisite repairs and replacements where necessary to the industry highest standard.


• The variety of work undertaken in Customer Care involves: Gearboxes, Both Timing Belts & Chains, Engine Repairs as well as light mechanical repairs.


• Undertake Road Tests – working with them to help them understand fully the possible reasons for the fault.


• Ability to coach and assist colleagues.


• Ability to maintain a safe and productive work environment

Requirements as a Vehicle Mechanic

• Essential to hold a full UK / EU Driving Licence Experienced as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.


• Strong vehicle diagnostic experience.


• Relevant City and Guilds qualification.


• Level 3 Qualification or equivalent OR 6 years' experience in a workshop environment.


• Own a stocked toolbox and basic servicing items - being able to use these for work purposes.


• Ability to communicate with a diverse work group.


• Experienced in communicating effectively with customers, in a clear and concise manner.
