Job summary

City of Portsmouth College is seeking a Lecturer in Automotive to teach across Level 1–3 light vehicle maintenance and EV awareness at the Highbury campus. The role involves planning, delivering engaging sessions and providing flexible assessments to support learner progression.

You will contribute to curriculum development and be part of a growing apprenticeship programme, with opportunities for continuing professional development and a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or higher in Automotive.
• Good understanding of IMI qualification and apprenticeship standards.
• Teaching qualification or willing to work towards.
• Hold an Assessors qualification and ideally an IQA (IQA not essential, but willing to work towards).
• Ability to meet targets within set timescales.
• Ability to work well in teams but also to work independently, with the minimum of supervision.

Responsibilities

• Teach on a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities.
• Provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student attainment.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum and programmes, including annual schemes of work and training plans.
