Job summary

Cardiff and Vale College is seeking Automotive Assessors to join the Work-Based Learning team. Two full-time roles and one 0.8 FTE role, assessing roughly 45 apprentices and supporting their progression in light/heavy vehicle maintenance.

Applicants should have substantial automotive industry experience and a recognised assessor qualification (TAQA Level 3, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent), with a full driving licence and willingness to travel to employer premises.

Qualifications

• Experience in workplace assessment and learner support.
• Experience with Light Vehicle and/or Heavy Vehicle maintenance advisable.
• TAQA Level 3, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent assessor award required.
• Full driving licence with access to own vehicle and business insurance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out workplace assessments and progress reviews for approximately 45 apprentices.
• Provide coaching and ongoing development to learners and liaise with employers.
• Ensure assessments meet awarding organisation requirements and contractual obligations.
• Maintain accurate learner records and provide timely feedback for continuous improvement.
