Job summary

DWP Digital is hiring Test Engineers to support a UK-wide digital services platform. You will build and maintain automated tests for UI and API layers, work within agile teams, and contribute to a robust testing strategy that covers performance, security and accessibility.

The role supports hybrid working across multiple hubs and emphasizes early testing in development. You’ll join a community of tech experts delivering services used by millions daily, with a focus on risk-based testing,

Qualifications

• Demonstrable skills in Java and/or TypeScript and modern engineering practices.
• Experience building and maintaining automated tests against UI and APIs.
• Experience of the testing lifecycle from delivery to production including test generation, reporting and defect management.
• Adaptable team player with Agile, CI/CD and shift-left practices.
• Knowledge of non-functional testing (Performance, Security, Accessibility).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, designers and testers to deliver services used by the public.
• Shape designs early and build automated tests to ensure reliability as services evolve.
• Focus on risk-based testing and ensure accessibility, usability, security and performance are built in from the start.
• Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines and share updates on quality and risk.
