Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to deliver reliable automated testing across public and private sectors. You will design, develop, and maintain UI, API, and integration tests, building frameworks with Java, Python and modern tools.

You will collaborate with developers and DevOps to accelerate delivery, support CI/CD pipelines, and embed quality from sprint planning through to release. A strong automation background is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with programming and automation tools such as Java, Python, REST Assured, Selenium Grid, Serenity Jenkins, Maven and Postman.
• Ability to document test frameworks, tests, outcomes and defects in detail.
• Experience building automation frameworks for API and UI testing with automated scripts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, API, and UI testing.
• Build and extend automation frameworks using modern languages and industry tools.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with DevOps collaboration.
• Analyze tests, identify risks, and promote best practices in test automation.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve quality and speed of delivery.
• Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
