Job summary

Infinity Quest Limited is seeking a highly skilled Core Automation Test Engineer in Telford for a permanent hybrid role. The candidate will design, build and maintain automation frameworks for web and enterprise applications, perform functional and regression testing, and collaborate across teams to define robust test strategies.

Immediate joiner or 1-week notice is preferred. The role requires hands-on automation experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or TestComplete, API testing tools,

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Solid experience in software testing and test automation.
• Hands-on expertise with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress or TestComplete.
• Strong API testing experience with Postman, Rest Assured or SoapUI.
• Familiarity with test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, NUnit or PyTest.
• Experience with JIRA for defect tracking.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile and DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts for web, API and enterprise applications.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks using industry-standard tools.
• Execute functional, regression, integration and end-to-end tests.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and product teams to define test strategies.

Description:-

We are seeking a highly skilled Core Automation Test Engineer with strong experience in test automation, functional testing, and quality assurance practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software applications.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, API, and enterprise applications.
• Develop and enhance automation frameworks using industry-standard tools and technologies.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand requirements and define test strategies.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects through resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on software quality and test coverage.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and testing best practices.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to test process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience:-

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in software testing and test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or TestComplete.
• Experience in API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or SoapUI.
• Knowledge of test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, or PyTest.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:-

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
