Job Description

Looking for a Battery Test Automation Engineer to be deployed at an OEM Client.

The role involves delivering automation tools to support the development and design verification (DV) of HV Traction Battery Systems.

The engineer will manage automation tools at external test houses and lead their development.

Responsibilities include providing first-line troubleshooting and diagnostic support for all battery test automation tools, as well as issue management across the battery testing field.

Skills:

  • Highly proficient in programming languages such as CAPL, Python, and C++.
  • Expertise in CAN/FlexRay/LIN/Ethernet communication protocols, including experience with CANoe and CANalyzer for HV system analysis, diagnostics, and test automation.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools/platforms like AVL Concerto, CANalyzer, Tableau, and Minitab.
  • Familiarity with automotive network interface tools such as Vector CANalyzer/CANape/CANoe, INCA, and VehicleSpy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of High Voltage HEV/BEV powertrain systems.
  • Technical knowledge of HV Battery and Charging technology and facility operations.
  • Ability to validate, prepare, and interpret engineering documents and electrical schematics.
  • Extensive experience in data analysis and reporting issues to both first-line staff and senior management.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH, and SDS.
  • Significant experience with data acquisition and control systems.
  • Technical expertise and experience in test facility operations and system under test preparation.
  • A full UK driving license with fewer than 6 penalty points, no disqualifications.
