Job summary

Cognizant in London is seeking an experienced Automation Tester to join the QA team. The role focuses on maintaining and extending a .NET 8 test automation framework built with Reqnroll (BDD) and Microsoft Playwright, ensuring robust test coverage for new features.

You will write Gherkin scenarios, develop page objects, and integrate tests into Azure DevOps pipelines, while addressing flakiness, supporting PR gates, and collaborating with DevOps and development teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in C#/.NET 8 test automation.
• Experience with Playwright and BDD (SpecFlow/Reqnroll).
• Strong Gherkin writing and Page Object Model.
• Experience with NUnit or xUnit in a .NET context.
• Azure DevOps YAML pipelines experience.
• REST API testing and database test data management.
• Ability to manage test data in Excel and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and extend the test automation framework in C#/.NET 8.
• Write and review Gherkin feature files, step definitions and page objects.
• Ensure tests are submitted with PRs and support shift-left testing.
• Investigate flakiness and replace sleeps with waits.
• Maintain Azure DevOps pipelines and publish test results.
• Triage pipeline failures and coordinate with DevOps.
• Manage test data and environment isolation across SIT/UAT/FAT.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies with estimates and risk flags.
