Job summary

Travis Perkins is seeking a QA Engineer (Automation) to join its Software Engineering team in Northampton. You will design and maintain scalable automation for terminal-based interfaces and modern web apps, building robust regression suites across core retail trading journeys.

You will automate data flows, validate via REST APIs, and integrate tests into CI/CD while exploring AI-driven testing opportunities to improve defect analysis and delivery productivity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent practical industry experience).
• Strong background in quality engineering with hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting with TS/JS. Experience with end-to-end testing tools and Page Object Models.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a scalable automated testing framework for terminal-based interfaces and modern web apps.
• Develop regression suites covering core retail trading journeys and connected systems.
• Automate data flows between core applications and enterprise systems using REST APIs for test data creation and validation.
