Job summary

Pioneer Selection is seeking a Project Engineer for controls and instrumentation in Blackburn. You will lead engineering projects from concept through to completion within a highly automated manufacturing environment, coordinating internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities include site inspections, procurement support, documentation, risk assessments and ensuring adherence to UK health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Project Engineer, Controls Engineer or Improvement Engineer in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA and instrumentation is essential.
• Ability to deliver projects from concept to completion on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from concept through completion in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Coordinate internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure project delivery.
• Perform site inspections to monitor progress, quality and safety.
• Support procurement through equipment specification reviews and supplier coordination.
• Produce technical documentation, reports and project updates.
• Perform risk assessments and establish safe systems of work.
