Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our Manufacturing Technologies Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and supporting automated machinery used in the assembly of aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies. This role involves working with a range of machinery, from large Cartesian machines and industrial robots to CNC milling machines and collaborative robots (cobots).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and support automated machinery for the assembly of aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies.
  • Develop new automated assembly processes, including drilling, fastening, routering, and milling.
  • Define and specify new machinery requirements.
  • Manage projects related to automation and robotics.
  • Provide technical support and advice on existing machinery and cutter/drill/router use.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in automation and/or robotics.
  • Knowledge of production processes used in Broughton and REACH legislation.
  • Proficient in digital and data analysis.
  • Experience with statistical or data analysis software tools (e.g., Minitab, Skywise).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including Practical Problem Solving (PPS).
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with collaborative robots (cobots).
  • Familiarity with CNC milling machines and industrial robots.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
