Engineering Maintenance Engineer - Automated Distribution Centre

Ensure the day-to-day running of parcel sortation equipment

What You'll Do

  1. The Engineering Challenge
  2. Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated machinery
  3. Perform continuous improvement activities on automated equipment
  4. Provide support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches; complete end of shift reports, fault logging, and data entry
  5. Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions to meet operational requirements
  6. Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs
  7. Identify and work on Continuous Improvement projects, from conception to implementation, for machinery in the distribution centre
  8. Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals
  9. Work on a rotating shift pattern (early, late, night)

Technical Excellence

  1. Oversee complex automated systems including ASRS and AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robotics) technology
  2. Implement best-in-class maintenance strategies to maximize efficiency
  3. Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime

What You'll Bring

  • Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (minimum Engineering/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience maintaining complex automation equipment
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Full UK driving license
  • Adaptability and confidence to work independently and in a team

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of automation systems
  • Experience in automated maintenance
