Job Description:

Description

The HVDC market for large-scale offshore wind is booming as an enabler in the energy transition. In these projects, we have a larger scope of automation systems compared to onshore HVDC. To meet these requirements, we are forming a new and dedicated engineering department focused on Automation, including SCADA and HMI systems, IT/OT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and telecom systems. We seek experienced professionals in industrial or electrical automation systems, including managers, specialists, and engineers, to work on tenders and projects with our external partners.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible primarily for network and cybersecurity within our SCADA, network, and IT/OT solutions as defined in tenders and projects.

Our delivery model involves external partners for most tasks, so your role will be to guide, specify, and review their work to ensure alignment with the overall solution.

This role offers hybrid working arrangements, based in either our Glasgow or Birmingham offices, combined with remote work.

Your responsibilities
  1. Take technical responsibility for the SCADA, Network, and Cyber Security solutions.
  2. Collaborate effectively within tender and project teams, and with customers and partners.
  3. Lead design and technical solutions based on industry best practices, promoting reusability across projects.
  4. Manage technical risks and implement mitigation strategies to meet contractual requirements.
  5. Develop and ensure adherence to specifications and guidelines by partners for clear project scope and change management.
Your background
  1. Over 5 years of experience in SCADA, Networking, and Cyber Security, including engineering and commissioning roles.
  2. Experience with Hitachi products is preferred; familiarity with competitors' products is a plus.
  3. Excellent communication skills in English, comfortable with customer interactions.
  4. Knowledge of network equipment (firewalls, switches, GPS clocks), redundant network designs, and protocols.
  5. Experience with Microsoft operating systems (both client and server), including virtual and physical environments.
  6. Familiarity with Active Directory, roles, integrations, databases, high-availability solutions, scripting, and automation technologies.
  7. Ability to interpret and communicate outputs from security scanners and vulnerability assessments.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills for technical interactions with multiple partners.
  9. Educational background in Engineering, M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
