Automation Engineer - Impact - Slough, UK

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to set up, operate, and program robotic peening machines, ensuring quality production and continuous improvement.

Travel to Metelen (Germany) and Charleville (France) will be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate robotic peening machines according to established procedures.
• Program and develop components on the robot machines as needed.
• Adjust machine settings to meet specifications and ensure timely completion.
• Manage the production schedule of the robotic cell.
• Read and interpret job cards, techniques, and diagrams to select, position, and peen products correctly.
• Follow safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment to ensure quality and minimize unplanned stops.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality production with minimal waste.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
• Manage and supervise robotic cell operations.
• Perform offline programming using ABB Robotics.
• Program and develop new parts on robotic machines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during production.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve robotic processes.
• Train and mentor junior staff on robotic systems.
