Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is recruiting an Automation Engineer for our Avonmouth site, supporting a high-automation distribution centre. You will perform maintenance on roller conveyors and Intralox sorters, balancing 60% mechanical and 40% electrical work to maximise reliability and uptime.

The role is full-time, with standard hours Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00, and offers a comprehensive benefits package including pension, healthcare and extensive discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 18th Edition Electrical certification and IOSH Managing Safely.
• Experience in automated engineering, manufacturing or logistics environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
• Diagnose, repair and document faults to minimise downtime.
• Maintain records using the site CMMS system and support upgrades.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site.
