Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in PLC and HMI programming, electrical system design, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop PLC and HMI programs using Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, and similar software.
- Design effective electrical systems for custom machinery in collaboration with the team.
- Assist in developing project cost estimates based on electrical system knowledge.
- Create detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Prepare accurate bills of materials and coordinate procurement with office staff.
- Ensure control panels comply with UL508A standards.
- Interpret customer requirements through communication and written specifications.
- Manage electrical projects from conception to completion.
- Guide colleagues in building electrical control panels.
- Engage in technical communication and design reviews with customers and vendors.
- Provide technical support for equipment installation and maintenance.
- Coordinate design efforts with production schedules and provide project updates.
- Implement system safety, productivity, quality, and cost improvements.
- Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Analyze test data to verify design performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 4 years in electrical design for automated equipment, preferably in manufacturing.
- At least 2 years of experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View.
- Knowledge of 480VAC, 240VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC systems, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
- Knowledge of electrical codes such as UL508A, NEC, and NFPA.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage commitments.
- Experience in field investigations and client interactions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and navigate rough terrain.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, surveys, and installations.
