Job description

Nisbets is currently seeking a motivated Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Avonmouth. Reporting directly to the Automation Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the site and supporting PPM activities. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance. The equipment on site includes conveyors, AMR robots, and carton machinery.

Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. You will also participate in a rota covering out-of-hours call-outs (approximately 1 in 4).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults to ensure minimal downtime.
  3. Complete all work adhering to high safety standards and company regulations.
  4. Support proactive maintenance strategies to enhance reliability and performance.
  5. Participate in on-call rota and potential weekend shifts (OT).
  6. Collaborate with operations to minimize production impact.
  7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment integrity.
  8. Undertake risk assessments and ensure safe working practices according to policies.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably with an electrical bias.
  2. Recognized qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, MS Elec, or equivalent).
  3. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault-finding, and troubleshooting.
  4. Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for weekend cover.
  6. Strong communication skills and a safety-first approach.
  7. Experience with CMMS systems is a plus.
