Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Control Testing Automation & Monitoring Lead to design and deliver automated testing across IT, OT, and business environments. You will work with the Control Testing & Assurance Manager and digital teams to automate control testing, improve data collection, and enable continuous monitoring of control effectiveness.

The role focuses on modernising the testing programme with automation and risk-based approaches, while ensuring compliance and security objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in control testing automation, process automation, or related assurance activities.
• 1
• Strong understanding of risk management practices and control frameworks.
• Ability to measure, monitor, and report on control effectiveness using metrics and data.
• Experience collaborating with technical and business teams to deliver automation solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess opportunities to automate control testing across IT, OT, and business functions.
• Design, develop, and implement automation plans for continuous monitoring.
• Evaluate tooling and technologies for control testing automation.
• Collaborate with digital teams to establish data acquisition and integration.
• Review automated testing outputs to report control deficiencies.
• Maintain documentation for automation workflows and exception handling.
• Engage with project teams and stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Ensure automation initiatives meet timelines and programme objectives.
• Escalate issues to the Control Testing & Assurance Manager and help resolve challenges.
• Support continuous improvement of the control testing programme.
