Job summary

GIOS Technology Limited in Sheffield is seeking an Automation & DevOps Engineer with IBM Z/Mainframe exposure to join on a hybrid model. You will work on Python-based automation, PostgreSQL data management, and CI/CD pipelines, delivering robust, production-grade solutions.

You'll design Grafana dashboards, manage artifacts with Nexus, and implement HashiCorp Vault integrations within automated workflows. Experience with z/OS job execution patterns is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Python development experience with modular design, error handling, logging, testing, and production-quality coding practices.
• Solid PostgreSQL experience covering schema design, query optimisation, performance tuning, and operational data management.
• Proficiency in Git and Git-based development and CI/CD practices.
• Enterprise-scale Ansible automation experience using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
• Experience designing Grafana dashboards and interpreting operational metrics.
• Hands-on experience with Nexus Repository or equivalent artefact management tools.
• Experience integrating HashiCorp Vault with automation and CI/CD workflows.
• Exposure to IBM Z/Mainframe environments and z/OS job execution patterns is advantageous.
