Job Description

Automation Controls Engineer required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational engineering client in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is a permanent position.

  1. Development, installation, and debugging of PLC code for new automated assembly machines.
  2. Develop and implement PLC code upgrades and manage the rollout to equipment.
  3. Provide technical support to the machine build team throughout the entire project cycle, including design, machine build, debugging, and commissioning phases.
  4. Contribute to design reviews with all relevant stakeholders.
  5. Create and maintain all relevant documentation for new and upgraded equipment.
  6. Research, test, and validate new technologies for use in future equipment solutions.
  7. Ensure project timelines and targets are achieved.
The Person
  • Good working knowledge of PLCs and control systems (Omron preferable).
  • Good understanding of machine safety requirements.
  • Imaginative and creative approach to technical problem-solving.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Key Requirements
  • Qualification to Level 7 or 8 in Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a similar role.
