Job description

As a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, my client also specialises in door systems across commercial, industrial, and retail sectors. They're now looking to grow our Door Services team with a skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Door Engineer based in Birmingham and Coventry.

The Role

You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and minor repair of automatic and industrial door systems, including roller shutters, sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, and sliding and swing automatic doors. Covering a range of commercial and industrial client sites across the West Midlands region, this role offers autonomy, support, and a chance to work for a business that invests in its people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on industrial and automatic door systems.
• Attend breakdowns and emergency callouts, diagnosing and repairing faults promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and the company's high standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out using digital tools and service reports.
• Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with clients on-site.
• Participate in the on-call rota on a 1 week in 5 basis, and be available for overtime as required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience servicing and maintaining automatic and industrial doors.
• Knowledge of a range of systems including roller shutters, sectional doors, dock levellers, and automatic pedestrian doors.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding skills and a proactive approach to work.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• A basic hourly rate of up to 19.50, based on a 37-hour working week.
• Overtime rates paid door-to-door for all travelling and work outside of contracted hours.
