Job summary

Wellingborough Door Company is seeking an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join our service and installation team, covering Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, and Bedfordshire. You will install, service and repair automatic doors across commercial, retail and industrial sites, traveling across a wide territory as part of a trusted regional contractor.

You will work independently with support from our back-office team, ensuring compliance with BS EN 16005, carrying out fault finding,

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and/or installing automatic doors.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• BS EN16005 certified.
• CSCS card.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on automatic door systems.
• Installation of new automatic door systems.
• Fault-finding and diagnostics on a range of manufacturers (e.g. Besam, Dorma/DORMAKABA, Record, GEZE, Tormax).
• Ensuring all work meets current safety standards and regulations (BS EN 16005).
• Building strong relationships with facilities management clients and site contacts.

Wellingborough Door Company is looking for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join our growing service and installation team, covering Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, and Bedfordshire

About the role:

You'll be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of automatic doors (swing and sliding) across a mix of commercial, retail, and industrial sites. You'll work independently across a wide territory while being backed by an established, reputable company with a strong pipeline of contract and reactive work.

What you'll be doing:

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on automatic door systems
• Installation of new automatic door systems
• Fault-finding and diagnostics on a range of manufacturers (e.g. Besam, Dorma/DORMAKABA, Record, GEZE, Tormax)
• Ensuring all work meets current safety standards and regulations (BS EN 16005)
• Building strong relationships with facilities management clients and site contacts

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience servicing and/or installing automatic doors
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Based in or within a reasonable commute of the Wellingborough/Northampton/Milton Keynes/Bedfordshire corridor, or able to cover North London routes
• Comfortable with regular travel across a wide territory
• Self-motivated, well-organised, and comfortable working independently
• Good customer-facing manner
• BS EN16005 Certified
• CSCS Card
