Job summary

Encirc Ltd is seeking an Automated Warehouse Engineer at Elton, Cheshire, to maintain and repair automated cranes, conveyors, elevators and shuttle cars on 12-hour shifts. You will diagnose breakdowns, perform planned maintenance and drive improvements to reliability and efficiency.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship in Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering, plus relevant post-apprenticeship experience and knowledge of Siemens S7 PLCs.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant engineering experience gained after apprenticeship.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Good knowledge of three-phase motors, inverter drives and Siemens S7 PLCs.
• Experience maintaining and repairing automated conveyor systems.
• Sound understanding of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Good communication skills and ability to work across teams.
• Confidence working at heights up to 35 metres.
• Good IT skills and proactive health and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, fault-finding and repairing automated warehouse equipment, including cranes, conveyors, elevators and shuttle cars.
• Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance safely and within agreed timescales.
• Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance and overall warehouse efficiency.
• Working closely with Engineering, Production, Despatch and Filling teams to support operational requirements.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring all plant and equipment remains safe and operational.
• Coordinating contractors on site and ensuring compliance with site rules and safety procedures.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and actively contributing to a strong safety culture.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the automated warehouse.
