Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm + alternate Saturdays (6:00am–2:00pm) with a weekday off in lieu

We are currently supporting them in the recruitment of an experienced Auto Electrician . This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and skilled maintenance team, providing specialist electrical support across a wide range of heavy-duty mobile plant and industrial vehicles.

About the role:
As a Mobile Plant Auto Electrician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing electrically operated plant equipment across multiple South Yorkshire sites. You’ll be responsible for electrical fault-finding, diagnostics, and servicing on a fleet that includes material handling equipment, forklifts, HGVs, mobile cranes, battery systems, and locomotives.

This hands-on role is ideal for a proactive technician with solid auto-electrical experience and a methodical, safety-first approach to work.
Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on a variety of mobile plant and industrial vehicles
• Maintain and service site vans, FLTs, pallet trucks, HGVs, cranes, locomotives, and battery-powered equipment
• Carry out planned maintenance and respond to unplanned breakdowns
• Work independently across multiple sites, delivering a first-class service to internal stakeholders
• Follow health and safety standards and wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Keep accurate records of work completed and parts used
• Support the wider team in delivering maintenance goals and operational reliability

About You
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Auto Electrician with strong fault-finding skills and a commitment to delivering high standards of safety and service.

Essential Criteria

• Level 3 IMI qualification in Auto-Electrical and Mobile Electrical Operations (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in auto-electrical repair and maintenance
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and wiring schematics
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal communication and the ability to work unsupervised
