Autism Support Worker - Slough

Are you passionate about helping set up young people for success? Are you keen to make a difference while also gaining valuable and rewarding experience?

A fantastic opportunity has recently become available for an Autism Support Worker in a primary school in Slough. The school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

The role as an Autism Support Worker:
  1. To support students who struggle with their class work
  2. Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
  3. To provide support to the class teacher
  4. To help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and classroom boards
  5. To keep the classroom a tidy and presentable environment
  6. To encourage children to do their best
  7. Help manage classroom behaviour
  8. Listen to the children read and practice their phonics
The successful Autism Support Worker:
  1. You will need to be calm and compassionate. Personality is everything!
  2. You must be able to take initiative and problem solve
  3. Have some experience working with children, desirable but not essential
  4. You must be patient. Some students struggle with additional learning needs and need someone supportive to help them get through the school day
  5. You must understand the importance of safeguarding in schools
  6. Must have an enhanced DBS Check or be willing to apply for one
  7. Must have the right to live/work in the UK – we do not offer sponsorships
