A specialist educational provider in York is seeking an Autism Support Worker to provide personalized support for young people with Autism. In this full-time, term-time role, you will assist students in a calm and nurturing environment, fostering independence and emotional well-being through structured strategies. GSL Education is looking for a full-time Autism Support Worker to join a specialist secondary setting in York from January 2026. This is a highly rewarding role supporting young people with Autism who require structure, consistency, and personalised support to thrive.
You will be joining a large, well-established specialist provision that supports students with complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, and communication differences. The environment is calm, nurturing, and highly structured, with a strong focus on emotional regulation, relationship‑building, and personalised learning. Staff work collaboratively to provide a safe and positive space where every young person can succeed in their own way.
Graduates in Psychology, Education, Youth Work, Health & Social Care, Counselling, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
All roles require an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. GSL Education can support with DBS processing if needed.
