Job summary

Beacon is seeking tutors to support students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions in higher education. You will provide one-to-one support under an Individual Learning Plan, helping students develop strategies to improve study skills and independence.

The role requires a degree, ASC training (NAS/CPD) and a teaching qualification for Study Skills ASC; you will meet students face-to-face and use assistive technologies to facilitate learning.

Qualifications

• Completion of NAS online training modules or Autism and SPELL courses or relevant CPD training.
• Educated to degree level with experience in higher/further education supporting ASC.
• Teaching qualification for Study Skills ASC or equivalent training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to students with ASC within an HE context.
• Work with an ILP to help students develop learning strategies and study skills.
• Meet with students face-to-face and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Utilise assistive technologies to support learning and independence.
