Job summary

The John Roan School is recruiting a Learning Coach with an autism specialism to support individual pupils and groups, reporting to the Assistant Principal and SENDCO with a strong focus on inclusion.

Working 37.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, you will join a supportive academy team, fostering pupils’ safety, development and self-esteem, and you may pursue a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship with commitment to staff development.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Right to work in the UK required.
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly autism.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team under the Principal’s direction.
• Undertake activities with individual children or groups to ensure safety and support development.
• Build supportive relationships with children and their parents.
• Encourage inclusion of pupils with SEN, with a focus on autism.
• Promote and help build pupils' self-esteem.
