Job summary

Scottish Autism is seeking an Autism Practitioner (Support Worker) to help support individuals in their own homes near Auchterarder (PH3 1D). You will build relationships with the person, family and stakeholders, and tailor support to promote choice, independence and wellbeing using a low arousal approach.

The role involves days, evenings, and sleepovers as part of a rolling rota, with progression opportunities and a benefits package. Salary starts at £14.46 per hour, with increases.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, collaborative and committed to supporting someone to lead a happy, healthy and fulfilling life
• Enthusiastic about learning on the job
• Able to work a range of shifts including days, evenings, sleepovers and weekends
• Able to learn and apply a low arousal approach to practice
• Able to take a trauma-informed approach to support
• UK driver’s licence desirable

Responsibilities

• Support an individual in their own home to enjoy activities and promote independence and wellbeing
• Build positive relationships with family and key stakeholders
• Use a low arousal approach and tailor support reflecting the person’s life and needs
• Provide personalised support that reflects autism and PMLD
• Participate in a rural, close-knit environment with team and community activities
