Job summary

Outcomes First Group’s Baston House School in Bromley, Kent, is seeking an Autism Practitioner to support students with autism in a safe, structured learning environment. You will collaborate with teachers and the multi-professional team to deliver tailored interventions, plan resources, and monitor progress, with a 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am–4.30pm, and a salary of £24,675 per annum (not pro rata), permanent and term-time only.

Start: September 2026. UK applicants only.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at minimum Level 4 (Grade C)
  • Has experience working with pupils with autism and/or challenging behaviour
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Has strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Is adaptable, patient, and proactive, committed to helping pupils achieve their potential

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers and tutors in delivering high-quality, inclusive education for students with autism
  • Assist in the implementation of school policies, procedures, and individualised education plans
  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to enable students to access the curriculum with increasing independence
  • Promote students’ physical, academic, social, and moral development
  • Organise and maintain engaging classroom environments, including resources and displays
  • Contribute to the preparation and upkeep of student documentation, such as BSPs, IEPs, Communication Profiles, Risk Assessments, and Pastoral Support Plans
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure student safety both on and off-site, in line with risk assessments
  • Contribute to the school’s ongoing development, improvement plans, and wider initiatives
