Job summary

BDC Supporting Services seeks an Activity Coordinator/Support Worker for a Day Centre for Autistic People in Thornton Heath. You will plan and run activities, support service users daily, and promote independence and social engagement.

Role requires experience in Day Centre or SEND for adults with autism; Autism training and PBS / Care Certificate are expected; IT skills are essential; driving licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in Day Centre or SEND provision for adults with autism and learning disabilities.
• Relevant qualification/training in autism and behaviour support.
• IT competence required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, run and supervise activities and events for Service Users within the Centre or in the community.
• Support Service Users with personal, physical, social, and psychological wellbeing; assist withcontinence and personal care.
• Collaborate harmoniously with staff, professionals, and families.
• Prepare and maintain Person-Centred Plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans; conduct reviews and assessments; perform admin tasks.
• Communicate with service users using AAC methods; coordinate with parents, carers, social workers and other professionals.
