Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting for a specialist SEN school in Bury to support pupils with autism and complex needs. This full-time role requires patience and dedication to help pupils access learning and achieve EHCP outcomes.

You will work with teachers, therapists and support staff to provide structured assistance in class and during less formal parts of the day, helping pupils develop communication, independence and emotional regulation skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting autistic children or young people.
• Ability to implement learning activities and behaviour support plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism and complex needs throughout the school day.
• Implement individual learning programmes and behaviour support plans.
• Use visual timetables and communication aids to support learning.
• Support non-verbal pupils or those who use alternative communication methods.
• Assist with emotional regulation and sensory needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils and collaborate with staff.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
