Support Worker – Thornaby Area – 6 hours per week
Hourly rate = £12.21

We are looking for a support worker to help a young person find his way in the world.

Our client lives with a learning disability and autism. He has extreme social anxiety, so will it may take some time to build a trusting relationship

His behaviours can be challenging at times, so a background and experience with learning disability and autism is essential.

He requires structure and routine, so the successful candidate will be need to organized and dedicated to providing a safe environment for him to learn life skills and prepare for independent living.

The successful candidate will need to be calm and patient, but also able to engage and encourage this young person..

Duties

To support with social activities, such as shopping

To develop life skills – such as managing money and cooking

Working hours

Hours to be split into two 3 hour sessions during the week.

There is flexibility around when the support is provided, but once the days and times have been set, they will fixed. This is due to the need for routine and structure.



Driver’s licence and own transport preferred, but not essential

An Enhanced DBS check will be required. The cost of this check will be covered by the employer.
