A community support provider is seeking an Autism Care Assistant in Alnwick. This part-time role (5 hours/week) involves supporting a young man with autism in social activities and promoting independence. Ideal candidates are calm, patient, and experienced in health and social care. Pay is £13.74/hour with afternoons preferred for work hours. Full UK driving license required.
A young man in the Alnwick area is looking to recruit an enabler for 5 hours a week during the afternoons to support him in and around his local community. The family are looking for enabler to support this young man with socialising and accessing the local community, and take a person-centred approach to any activities this young man chooses to engage in.
He likes to look around the game shops, go to the cinema, eat out at a cafe/restaurant as well as play on his PlayStation and Xbox consoles, he loves Dr Who and enjoys going to Comicon conventions and museums. He also enjoys going bowling.
Main Duties: To support a young gentleman who has a learning disability to promote independence, communication skills and fitness, mainly in the Alnwick area, while acting as a 'support buddy', encouraging his interests while taking a person-centred approach. The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission.
Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
Personal specification: Car driver preferred.
