Job description

Autism Care Assistant for a 10 year old boy P/T@ £13.74/hr in Corbridge - Corbridge - NE45

A committed support worker is required to allow a 10-year-old young boy in the Hexham area to access social and leisure activities predominantly in the home and local area.
The young man loves his home environment. His interests include:
  • Playing in the garden or at the local park
  • Cooking/Baking
  • Playing Roblox
  • Colouring in
The support is to allow him to have time away from his main carer, remain safe and most importantly have fun.
He will need supervision when eating and guidance around this will be provided by those who know him best.
He is not very keen on loud noises and can be a little upset if you try to take him away from things he is interested in. Somebody who can adapt and divert his attention during these times would be preferred.
The ideal applicant will be:
  • Patient
  • Kind
  • Caring
  • Have a good sense of humour
  • Be willing to actively engage in the activities with the child and not just supervise
Hours Breakdown:
  • 6-10 hours per week during term time
  • Minimum 15 hours per week during school holidays
Hours to be used on a Saturday during school time but may not be every Saturday.
More flexibility/additional hours in the school holidays
