Overview

Location: Coventry (CV6 area). Contract Type: Full-time. Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week. Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a Coventry school with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated behaviour needs. This is a full-time, long-term role working 1:1 to help a child regulate emotions, build confidence, and engage positively with learning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for a child with autism and behavioural challenges.
  • Implement structured routines, visual supports, and personalised learning strategies.
  • Support emotional regulation and encourage positive social interaction.
  • Use de-escalation and behaviour management approaches to reduce anxiety.
  • Work closely with SENCO, class teacher, and parents to ensure consistency.

  • Experience supporting children with autism and behaviour needs.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient, with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Confident using strategies such as now/next boards and visual timetables.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and helping children thrive.
