A highly-regarded primary school in Salisbury is searching for an Autism Support Assistant to be employed on an immediate and long-term basis. The ASD child has an EHCP with explicit targets and outcomes and will necessitate a dedicated and caring individual who understands the specific needs of this child. The primary school is looking for an Autism Support Assistant who is charismatic, empathetic, and demonstrates a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children with SEN. Previous experience working with children with Autism is desirable for this role.
This is a tremendous opportunity to gain experience within the Special Needs and Mental Health sector, as you will have the chance to observe, work alongside, and collaborate with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, and teachers with SEN specialisms.
The primary school is graded ‘Good’ by OFSTED, has excellent transport links, and on-site parking. The successful Autism Support Assistant will need to be fully committed to the child on a long-term basis. The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, receiving specialist support and training vital for your personal development.
