Job description

Authorising Engineer (Technical Assurance)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of EMCOR UK’s 'Significant Risk' Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) activities across accounts.
  • Develop, deliver, control, and audit ‘Significant Risk’ Safe Systems of Work.
  • Conduct technical audits, communicate corrective actions, and support account teams.
  • Analyze technical compliance activities, identify opportunities, and support improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical and engineering support, coaching, mentoring, and competency assessments for relevant personnel.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional technical assurance support to the WSA, via the SAE and TSAD, ensuring compliance with safety, legislative, and technical standards.
  • Support the development and management of EMCOR UK’s Technical and Safety Competency Management System (CMS).
  • Assist in delivering audits, compliance reports, and technical documentation updates.
  • Participate in horizon scanning, incident support, and resource collaboration activities.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum HND in engineering or related field; IEng status with a goal towards CEng.
  • At least 5 years of relevant operational and maintenance experience, with AP/AE qualifications.
  • Knowledge of safety, risk management, legislation, ISO standards, and quality management systems.
  • IT literate with skills in Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
